What is Token decimals?
Token decimals specify how an integer token amount is displayed in human-readable units. A token balance is represented in integer base units; dividing by the configured decimal scale produces a display amount. Decimal metadata must be checked for the exact token contract or mint.
Do not use binary floating-point values for accounting or transaction construction. Parse a bounded decimal string into an integer with the asset's verified precision, keep the unit explicit, and reject excess fractional digits instead of rounding silently.
A display layer can format base units for readability, but the stored ledger value should remain an integer or exact decimal type. Validate the precision before sending a value to another service.
